Child safeguarding policy

Version 1.0 · Last updated: 14 October 2026

Children act, dance, sing, model and perform, and they deserve opportunities. They also deserve to be safe. This Policy sets out how CHAPUIS BRANDING AND CREATIVES LTD, trading as Nibambe, protects children on the Platform, in line with Article 53 of the Constitution of Kenya, the Children Act, 2022, the Data Protection Act, 2019, the Sexual Offences Act, 2006 and the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018. It forms part of our Terms of Use.

In this Policy, a "child" is anyone under eighteen (18) years old.

1. Our commitment

1.1 The best interests of the child come first in every decision we make about a child's profile, a report or a Gig involving children.

1.2 We have zero tolerance for abuse, exploitation, grooming or sexualisation of children. Anyone who breaks this Policy is removed and may be reported to the authorities.

2. How children appear on Nibambe

2.1 Children cannot open an Account. Only a parent or legal guardian ("Guardian") can create and manage a child's profile, by choosing "I'm a parent or guardian" when joining.

2.2 The Guardian confirms that they are the child's parent or legal guardian and consents to the child's profile on the child's behalf.

2.3 Every contact on a child's profile is the Guardian's, or another responsible adult chosen by the Guardian. A child's own phone number, email, social media handle, school, or home address must never appear.

2.4 Children's profiles are hidden from anonymous visitors and shown only to signed in Users.

2.5 Photos and videos of children must be appropriate for the child's age, fully clothed, and suitable for a professional casting or portfolio. No swimwear, lingerie, suggestive poses or any content that sexualises a child.

2.6 The AI profile coach, when used for a child's profile, does not ask for the school name or anything that could locate the child.

3. Rules for clients and anyone contacting a child's profile

3.1 Always deal with the Guardian. Never contact a child directly, by any channel.

3.2 Never ask to meet a child without the Guardian, or a responsible adult the Guardian has chosen, being present.

3.3 Auditions, rehearsals, shoots and performances involving children must take place in safe, professional or public places, never in private homes or hotel rooms.

3.4 Give the Guardian full written details before any job: the organiser, the role, the content, the location, the dates and hours, breaks, supervision, pay, and how the child's images will be used.

3.5 Never ask for photos or videos of a child outside a clearly described, lawful production purpose agreed with the Guardian.

3.6 Respect the child's education, rest and wellbeing. Do not offer work that is harmful or unsuitable for children, or that breaks the Children Act, 2022 or the Employment Act, 2007.

3.7 Never ask a Guardian or child for money in exchange for an opportunity.

4. Advice for parents and guardians

(a) Check who the Client is: their organisation, a "Verified client" label, past work.

(b) Get the details of every job in writing (a WhatsApp message is fine).

(c) Stay with your child, or send a trusted adult, at every audition and job.

(d) Never pay any fee for your child to be considered, cast or booked.

(e) Be careful with offers to travel, especially abroad.

(f) Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, stop, and report it.

5. Reporting a concern

5.1 Use the "Report" button on any profile or Gig, or write to support@nibambe.com with the subject "Child safety". Reports about children are reviewed first.

5.2 If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999 or 112.

5.3 To report child abuse or get advice, call Childline Kenya on 116 (free, 24 hours).

5.4 We act quickly on reports: we may hide a profile or Gig at once while we review it, remove accounts, keep the relevant records, and refer the matter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Department of Children's Services or other competent authority.

6. Our team

6.1 Only authorised team members can review reports involving children. They keep information confidential and share it only as needed to protect the child or as required by law.

7. Review

We review this Policy at least once a year, and after any serious incident.
